The police proceeded to search Rodriguez’s car to see if they could find any other evidence to connect him to Dru’s disappearance. And luckily for them, they found exactly what they needed to tie Rodriguez to the crime. Inside his car, they found receipts for purchases made in a few stores near the mall Dru was kidnapped from. But that wasn’t the only clue they found, the rest could finally help them put him behind bars.

A Knife With Dru’s DNA

It was evident to the authorities that Rodriguez had a penchant for knives. Not only did he use one before with the intent to kill a past victim, but they found another when searching his car again this time. The “tool kit knife” had been found immersed inside what seemed to be cleaning solution. And yet, when forensics brought it in for testing, it had blood on it that matched Dru’s blood type. Police knew that they had the right guy in custody.
