A Level-3 Convicted Sex Offender

On December 1, only a week after Dru went missing, Alfonso Rodriguez, Jr. was arrested for a possible link to her case. Rodriguez was a registered level-3 sex offender who had just been released after serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape, and for trying to stab and murder another woman. It was a surprise to many that he had even been released, considering Level-3 offenders were considered the most likely to strike again.

His Super Weak Alibi

Rodriguez had claimed that he was watching a movie in the Columbia Mall the night that Dru was abducted. He also claims that he was watching the movie “Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” which was supposedly playing at Cinema 4. The problem was, that movie had not shown in that theater on that day, nor had it shown in any cinemas near that area. Police knew that they had caught Rodriguez in his first lie of many.
