There are several struggles that women face in North Korea. We have already mentioned a couple in the previous slides but the list goes on and on. One of the problems that North Koreans face is human trafficking. The smuggling of people emerged ever since traders along the China-North Korean border were asked to bring North Korean women in return for money.

32) A North Korean defector shows evidence of physical torture

Kim Hye-Sook is one of the many North Korean defectors who revealed their brutal experiences in the hands of the North Korean government. Kim Hye-Sook survived 28 years of agonizing pain and suffering in a North Korean prison camp, The Christian Post reported. In addition, she offered a detailed account of the forced labor, starvation, and torture she endured under the Communist dictatorship.
