Memories from A Survivor

One particular survivor named Thomas “Toivi” Blatt shares what he recalls from the revolt. “Corpses were everywhere. The noise of rifles, exploding mines, grenades and the chatter of machine guns assaulted the ears. The Nazis shot from a distance while in our hands were only primitive knives and hatchets.” From the 600 that joined the mutiny, only 60 of them survived.

Losing The War

Hitler eventually began to fail in his stronghold on the war and would eventually end up losing altogether. At the time of his downfall, he knew that he needed to cover up the immense killings that he and his faithful SS commanders had done to the Jewish people. And when the prisoners in Sobibor revolted, he decided to shut it down once and for all.
