The Secret Of The Dummy Board
Contestants have the benefit of referring to a “dummy board” to help them remember the letters that have already been guessed. They are able to use this to their advantage for buying time when answering. In addition, there’s also a screen for the host which tells him how many of each letter are already in the puzzle. This was previously done by an intern who indicates the number with his fingers.
