There have been three winners of over $1 million in the show. In October of 2008, Michelle Loewenstein won $1 million in the bonus round, bringing her total payout to $1,026,080 in cash and prizes. In May 2013, as the show was celebrating 30 years, Autumn Ernhard won herself $1,030,340 when she correctly guessed the phrase “Tough Workout” with only four letters on the board. The third person was Sarah Manchester, a Maryland math teacher who won $1,017,500 in 2014.
