Little Has Changed
Not a lot has changed in the show since it started. One of the most notable is the price of a vowel, which used to be $150 when the show was still on daytime and had lower ratings, resulting to lower cash prizes. Although it’s already $250, that amount hasn’t changed in over 30 years, seemingly unaffected by inflation. The biggest change came in 1997, when the puzzle board that host Vanna White controls became digital, featuring 52 touch screen monitors, with 12 across the top and bottom rows, and 14 in the two middle rows.
