The Original Wheel Of Fortune
The very first version of Wheel of Fortune was vastly different, to say the least, from the Wheel of Fortune known today. Debuting In 1952, this CBS game show featured ordinary people who did good deeds or simple acts of heroism and were brought on the show. The audience would then learn about their story, and then they’d go on to spin the wheel and win a prize. The show would last only a year, getting outlived by its theme song, “Wheel of Fortune” by Kay Starr. It was hosted by Todd Russell, who was also known for hosting The Rootie Kazootie Show, a puppet-based children’s program.
