Frustrated and agitated

Mrs. Duncan, the volunteer who reprimanded Clare on the length of her dress, would not hear out Clare as she tried to reason with her. The volunteer said that the rule for dress length was “fingertip length” which forced Clare to demonstrate that her dress indeed followed this rule. Clare was now becoming frustrated and agitated since she felt that she was being singled out from among the other students.
