The other side of the coin

Mrs. Duncan, the volunteer chaperone accused of ostracizing the teenager, Clare Ettinger, for the dress she was wearing, had her own story. She claims that it was true that the dress indeed complied with the length restriction specified by the school, the problem was that it kept hitching up, thanks to the material it was made of. The dress simply did not remain at the length it was supposed to be, and often times, was riding up higher on her legs. She also claims that the chaperones were there to keep everyone behaving properly and that they were not ogling at Clare or the other girls.
