Violated
Clare and her friends felt concerned that there were a lot of male parents around, watching them. Clare confessed that she felt “violated” by the number of male volunteers there were spying on them from high up on the balcony. This, in addition to how she was accused of wearing an inappropriate dress that night, made Clare more anxious rather than happy to be at the prom.
