Tempted to think impure thoughts

Thinking that all that fiasco about her dress was over, Clare was surprised to see Mrs. Duncan again, this time with another volunteer. Together, the two adults wanted to have a word with the 17-year-old, this time about what some of the male chaperones reported to them regarding Clare’s “provocative” dancing. Together with her dress, the adults claimed that she might be tempting other attendees to think “impure” thoughts.
