The damage caused by stroke to the brain can affect eyesight and knowing some of the visual problems it causes could help identify if someone is having a stroke. When stroke affects the right side of the brain, the visual pathways that carry the signal from the retina via the optic nerve become impaired. One could be rendered partially or totally blind, or leave one with problems in eye movement and coordination causing blurry images or double vision. Some people may not seem blind but ignore things that are right in front of them, which means that the brain isn’t processing the images it sees correctly.
