Killing Kathryn

After months of stalking his next victim, Rader would break into her home and wait for her to arrive at around 2 p.m. But she and her brother Kevin entered the home, only to be apprehended by Rader with a gun. Again, he told them that he was on the run and just seeking food, money and a car to get away. He then tied them up in separate rooms, but Kevin was able to get out of his bindings. He attempted to take Rader down but instead, Rader shot him in the head and face, then proceeded to stab Kathryn a total of 11 times. And while Kevin would get away and seek help, his sister Kathryn would sadly die just a few hours later after being treated in the hospital.

Panic Sets In

The neighborhood was in a panic. The once quiet town in Kansas was now under a microscope, wondering who could be so evil as to have brutally killed 5 people, and attempted to shoot another. The authorities were searching far and wide, hoping to find any clues into the person responsible for making families double check the locks of their home doors and windows extra tight each night. And what the police were soon going to find out was that Rader was leaving them clues.
