Since treatment of the disorder is generally believed to start at home, it is necessary for parents to have the skills needed to cope with the disorder together with their affected child. Parenting skills training provide parents the tools and techniques necessary to understanding and managing their child’s behaviors. Some of the techniques may include immediate rewards, timeouts, togetherness, striving for success, and stress management.
