Occupational therapy or OT for children with ADHD focuses on neurodevelopment, and managing the relationship between their surrounding and their own thoughts and actions, and what is going on in the brain. Therapy include activities that improve fine motor skills or dexterity (writing or holding a pencil, buttoning clothing, turning pages, cutting with scissors), develop gross motor skills (throwing or catching a ball, balancing, climbing, jumping on a trampoline), and control sensory processing (such as spinning and swinging). Typical OT workshops will look like a big gym with climbing walls, swings, mini-trampolines, ball pits, and other items that will aid in these activities.
