Social Skills Training
Social skills training can be useful when children show serious issues dealing with simple social interactions and struggle with low self-esteem. The goal is to teach children more appropriate behaviors by having therapists demonstrate behaviors like the following: waiting their turn, sharing toys, asking for help, or dealing with teasing. Normally done in a group, the therapists then let the children practice these behaviors by repeating them, eventually helping them work and play better with others and behave better in the real world.
