Explaining Her Choice In Choosing Death
As days began to pass reaching her date of death on November 1, Brittany continued to defend her actions, explaining that since she didn’t have a choice to die, she could still make the choice of how and when it would happen. She explained, “The freedom is in the choice. If the option of death with dignity is unappealing to anyone for any reason, they can simply choose not to avail themselves of it. Those very real protections are already in place.” She even wrote her own article for CNN called, “My Right to Death with Dignity at 29.”
She Didn’t Actually Want To Die
Whether people wanted to believe her or not, she felt the need to explain that she didn’t actually want to die, she wanted to live, but she didn’t have that choice. She actually had so much to live for. She was young, she had an adoring husband, a loving family, plus she never even had the chance to have children. How could people even believe that what was her tragic reality was what she wanted?
