14. Nicholas II


Czar Nicholas II was ruler of Russia since 1894 until his death in 1918. He was also known as “Bloody Nicholas” for how he led his country to wars that have cost the lives of some 3 million people including the one against the Japanese at the turn of the 20th century. He had an anti-Semitic stance, was extremely idealistic, and was very violent. Nicholas II was executed in 1918 by the communists and Bolsheviks who captured him.
