Trying To Cover Her Tracks

At first, Alyssa would attempt to cover her tracks by telling the police that Elizabeth had accidentally fell and hit her head, which is what caused her death. But Sgt. Rice shared, “I explained to Alyssa that we were going to recover the body and the autopsy would show every injury.” Alyssa knew there and then that it was over, and she had to confess her horrible deeds.

Taking Police To The Body

She explained to Sgt. Rice exactly what had happened that day, how she had gotten her sister to ask Elizabeth to go with her to the woods. A portion of her confession was described by the police officer, “Alyssa said once she arrived at the site of the hole that she began to strangle Elizabeth while she was facing her, that she strangled her multiple times and stabbed her in the chest, I believe six or seven times, and then cut her throat.” And after she confessed, that’s when she agreed to take them to the Elizabeth’s body in the woods.
