Convicted and Jailed
Finally, Swango’s shady activities caught up with him. On August 23, 1985, he was convicted of aggravated battery and sentenced to a measly five years behind bars. People reacted and gave a scathing review to the hospitals that should have looked into his case more thoroughly. Prosecutors also considered charging him for murder. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough evidence available.
