Kristin Kinney was a nurse at Riverside Hospital when she met and fell in love with Swango. The two had planned to settle as soon as they both got settled. And by 1991, Swango resigned from his job and sought for the position of a doctor once more. In order to do that and escape the law, he had to legally change his name to Daniel J. Adams.
