Victims’ Vindication
Accusations and murder followed Swango wherever he went, and while he may not have been the very first serial killer to go down in history, his case showed hospitals just how important research and background checks are. Investigations regarding the cases connected to the accused were done haphazardly. He left a trail of death wherever he went and while he only admitted to killing three of his more than 60 victims, he was also jailed for falsifying documents. The judge heard all the stories and has expressed great disdain over his “animalistic acts.” And at the end of the trial, the doctor who saw himself as god was imprisoned and punished to three life sentences without the possibility of parole. He may have gotten away too long, but at least the world is safer from one more twisted mind.
