Dead On Arrival
After the shooting Phillips radioed in for help, and he colleagues who passed them by immediately returned to the site of the shooting but both Curtis and Philips died before reaching the hospital, with Officer Phillips being on the force for only two years, Officer Curtis a mere two months. And while they were dead, their colleagues were going to make sure their case would remain open no matter what. The investigation started immediately. Soon after Phillips radioed in for help policemen and even ordinary citizens were looking for the assailant but he was nowhere to be found. He had deserted his vehicle shortly after the shootings, but at the very least the car was recovered-every little bit of evidence helps.
