Catching A Killer

Although they may not have necessarily known it at the time, when they arrested Todd Kohlhepp at the same time they were rescuing Kala, they were getting their hands on an evil murderer, whom some say is a true serial killer. Kala explained that Todd had shot her boyfriend, Charlie Carver, four times right in front of her. Then he told her that if she didn’t do as he said, she would end up dead just like Charlie. Apparently, Todd had told her “Kala, if you try to escape you’re going directly into one of those graves,” showing her where he had put the bodies of his victims before her.

Finding Carver’s Body

Police found Charlie’s body on Todd’s property, and his was just the first in a string of murders that Todd committed from 2003 until 2016. He would then confess to the death of 6 other people, aside from Charlie Carver. Kala had told police that Todd had shown her the graves of his other victims, and Todd would eventually confess to murdering them all. He told police that he would bring them to his property and show them where he had buried them all.
