What Happened There?

According to one of Todd’s neighbors, Dale Durham, “Nothing ever happens here,” he shares. People didn’t think anything of it at firs since Todd was a real estate agent, and he kept telling people that he eventually wanted to ‘build his dream home’ on the gigantic property. According to an old friend from school, Cherry Laurens, “He talked about getting a good chicken coop, putting in a garden, what type of plow to get. …Every conversation we had about the property it was always normal stuff. He liked having a large property. He could get away from the stress of being a Realtor.”

What Nobody Could Know

Whether it was due to the location, or if people found it strange for a single, unmarried man to live alone in such a remote and huge area, no one would ever visit when Todd invited. One neighbor in particular, Johnny Ravan, had exclaimed how, on his first time to meet his new neighbor, he shared with Todd how he used to use the property that Todd bought to go hunting. And Todd allegedly told Ravan, “Well, your hunting days are over.”
