While incarcerated, Todd had a probation officer that he would see every so often. He would describe Todd almost in the exact same way the judge did, despite Todd’s lawyer claiming that, “he did not believe his client would go on to harm others.” Todd would complete 14 years of imprisonment, and would finally get out of jail when he was almost 30 years old. And it would almost seem like he was going to prove the judge and parole officer wrong by leading a completely different life than before.

While incarcerated, Todd graduated from the Central Arizona College, earning a Computer Science degree. Upon his release from jail, Todd would eventually go back to live with his mom in South Carolina. He was able to get hired as a graphic designer for over a year, then decided to go back to get another degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate. It felt like he had made a new beginning for his life. But this couldn’t be further from the truth.
