“Until the gun stopped firing”
Pam shot Gumpenberger “until the gun stopped firing.” She said she heard the gun “click” several times before dropping it. Investigations later revealed that Gumpenberger was not armed when he was found inside the house. Later it was revealed that he was only shot twice, contrary to Pam’s statement that she shot him until the gun ran out of bullets.
The note and the money
A handwritten note and $900 were found inside a Ziploc bag recovered from Gumpenberger’s pockets. The note, according to investigations, “appeared to be instructions for Gumpenberger to kidnap Hupp, get ‘Russ’ money’ from Hupp at her bank, and kill Hupp in order to collect the rest of $10,000. The note also mentioned the last name ‘Faria.’”
