Beginning A Life In Politics
Sadly for the Kennedy family, Jack’s older brother Joseph Jr. died in active Navy duty. It was their father’s dream that Joseph Jr. would one day take the presidential seat. So when he died, Jack ended up taking over the role of hopefully one day becoming the leader of the free country. And in 1946, JFK became a Congressman, fighting for the democratic side for over 6 years, and later on he would also become a US State Senator. His political career, although wrought with more health issues here and there, would be continuous from this time onwards.
