Sharing Her Torment
Despite the horrible abuse and torment that Elizabeth had to endure, she was able to remain strong and sane, and share her experience with the public. In her countless interviews, she explained for herself exactly what had happened at the hands of her captor. She says, “Over the next nine months, Brian David Mitchell would rape me every day, sometimes multiple times a day, he would torture and brutalize me in ways that are impossible to imagine, starve and manipulate me, like I was an animal.”
