Her Book, ‘My Story’
Elizabeth Smart- Gilmore has written a memoir of what happened to her when she was kidnapped, raped, tortured and kept by Mitchell and Barzee. In her story, she explains that she survived because of her family, her faith and by the love of her living God. She says that the best advice she got from her mom was, “Elizabeth, what this man has done to you is terrible. He has stolen nine months of your life that you will never get back. But the best punishment you could ever give him is to be happy.” So that’s exactly what she’s doing.
