Sending Her Apologies To Elizabeth
During her time of sentencing, Barzee said, “I’m greatly humbled as I realize how much Elizabeth Smart has been victimized and the role I played in it. I’m so sorry, Elizabeth, for all the pain and suffering I caused you and your family. It is my hope that you find it in your heart to forgive me.” And although Elizabeth wasn’t around to see Barzee’s sentencing, Barzee still said her apology to the young girl. She was sentenced to 15 years in jail, with 5 years of probation after release, after which she would also be placed on the sex offender list.
