Bob Crane was a famous actor and was also notorious for being part of an underground sex movie with friend John Carpenter. They’d filmed themselves having sex with women. One day, Bob’s body was found in an apartment complex in Arizona. He died from severe trauma from an undetermined weapon, which investigators speculated may have been a tripod. Smears of blood found in John Carpenter’s car matched Bob’s blood type, but because DNA testing didn’t exist at the time, it was difficult to prove that the blood belonged to Bob Crane. In 1992, the case was reopened, but the evidences were, unfortunately, unpreserved, rendering them useless. Carpenter was acquitted, stating that he was innocent. He died in 1998.
