Murdered in cold blood – Marilyn Reese Sheppard
Marilyn Reese Sheppard, the wife of Sam Sheppard, was violently attacked and murdered in her home in Ohio in 1954. She was pregnant at the time of the murder. Sam claimed that a bushy-haired man broke into their house and killed his wife. He was also even attacked and knocked unconscious. Her husband was convicted but was later freed in 1966. A new trial was made on the case, but Sam was again acquitted. The case was widely publicized and even inspired the television series and movie The Fugitive.
