Elizabeth Short, 22-years-old, met a brutal death in a still-unsolved case in Los Angeles in 1947. Elizabeth was known as a troubled young girl. She was in town to visit an old boyfriend, and she had been moving from one place to another until her gruesome death. Her body was found strewn in a vacant lot. It was severed from the waist and her face was slit from the edge of her mouth towards the ear. She was nicknamed by the authorities as the Black Dahlia based on the 1946 movie The Blue Dahlia. The case sent the media on a frenzy, and despite the many speculations put forward by experts, the mysterious and brutal murder remains unsolved.
