The skin-crawling mystery of Elisa Lam’s death at the Cecil Hotel

Elisa Lam was a 21-year-old Canadian who traveled alone from Vancouver to Los Angeles. She stayed at the historic Cecil Hotel on January 26, 2013. She went missing five days later, until she was found dead on February 19, 2013, by a hotel maintenance worker in an 8-foot tall tank on the hotel roof. The authorities ruled that her death was caused by an accident, but the circumstances surrounding it are bizarre and horrifying. Elisa had a bipolar disorder, which probably explained her odd behavior which can be observed from a surveillance camera footage. She can be seen entering and exiting the elevator several times and pushing all the buttons, and she also seemed scared. The elevator door can also be seen an opening for too long. To make matters more disturbing, she was found dead inside one of the tanks on the rooftop, not to mention that the rooftop access doors are protected by alarms. And the tanks themselves are really hard to get into. And how did she manage to shut the tank’s lid from the inside? Elisa Lam’s death has since become notorious among the paranormal enthusiasts.
