The sensational murder case of William Desmond Taylor
When actor William Desmond Taylor was killed, it was the heyday of Hollywood, and the media was thirsty for anything they could sensationalize. Taylor’s body was found inside his home on February 1, 1922. He died from a gunshot in the back. More than a dozen suspects were named, but evidences to convict the suspect were lost in the midst of the chaos in the crime scene and corruption within the Los Angeles police force. Fellow actor Margaret Gibson owned up to the crime, but she couldn’t be convicted for insufficient evidences.
