Seal your love with a lock and throw the key in the water. This might be popular several years ago, but those days are gone. Now, these love locks, which signifies a couple’s affection for each other, on Amsterdam’s famous draw bridges, are removed as their weight puts an additional strain that the bridges were not designed for, and may cause damage. So, these symbols of “eternal love” might well last for just a few weeks due to the regular checks of city workers on the historic bridges.
