Never Interrupt Dinner
Never show up unannounced, and under no circumstance, intrude by stopping by, calling, or even texting someone in their home between 6 and 7 PM, as this is dinner time. The Dutch consider this the most important meal of the day, a special time to get together and as such, are very serious about not being disturbed. This meal tends to last longer, as dessert is normally eaten, usually followed by borrel, which is the time adults drink alcohol.
