Don’t Try To Speak Dutch If You’re Just Visiting
The Dutch language is one of the hardest languages to learn and though locals might appreciate visitors knowing a few courtesies in Dutch like “thank you” or “please”, going further and trying to speak more if you’re not at least semi-fluent, or if you’re just there on holiday, might cause more irritation than appreciation when using the wrong words, causing unnecessary misunderstanding. Most people in the country speaks English, so best stick to it.
