In America, it’s not uncommon for people to leave their shopping carts wherever they please. But in Germany, people will bring the carts all the way back to where they got them, whether they want to or not. First of all, the Germans are incredibly disciplined, so it’s not surprising. And secondly, each cart requires you to put 1 euro in it before you can use it anyway, so if you want your money back, you really don’t have a choice.
