26. Cystitis

Cystitis or the inflammation of the urinary bladder is also a common cause of abdominal pain, particularly in the lower mid portion of the abdomen, above the pubic area. The pain is described as persistent, burning and is often associated with bloody, strong-smelling, and cloudy urine.

Commonly referred to as UTI, the condition is caused by an increased growth in bacterial numbers and is treated with the use of antibiotics.
