His Advice To Others

Many of his talks with a high veteran audience speak about encouragement in sharing their stories, both with fellow veterans, family and friends. In one particular instance he said, “You should share your feelings with your family. They want to know what you did. It’s not all about combat or valor. It’s about your experience. And what it means to have served in the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force, as a mechanic, in personnel, the infantry, or whatever it is. Good, bad, or indifferent, it’s your experience.”

It’s Not Only Veterans

Rocky doesn’t only inspire veterans, but he also regularly speaks to high school students as well. Given the life that he has lived, his heroism, and how he managed to bounce back from situations that were so completely overwhelming and daunting, but he did it so favorably that people can’t help but look up to him, deservedly so.
