Stationed In Chu Lai

While in Vietnam, Rocky was a part of the ‘4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment in the 196th Light Infantry Brigade.’ And it was while he was serving here that he would end up getting extremely injured. While out on a rescue mission to extricate some wounded soldiers, Rocky’s team would get ambushed and he wound up getting shot in the leg.

That Wasn’t The Worst Of It

In his attempt to keep safe, Rocky was keeping himself hidden in a rice paddy, but it couldn’t protect him for what was about to happen next. Before he could fire his own weapon, a grenade ended up landing right under his right foot and exploding, making him almost lose his leg.
