Not Giving Up

For Rocky, he explained, “My mindset was I’d had enough injuries, as all football players do – sprained ankles, torn ligaments, things like that. You learn the same lesson. You get hurt. In time it heals. Then you rehab like hell and in time you play. That’s the process.”

Refusing To Give Up

Rocky refused to give up his chance at ever playing football again. He knew that the road to get back to the Steelers was going to be tough, especially since he was told that his professional career was over, but he refused to give up. He was considered ‘40 percent disabled,’ something that all the doctors he went to see made them agree that he would never play again. But it didn’t matter, Rocky was incredibly determined to play again.
