Finally, when the sixteenth round of the draft finally had the Pittsburgh Steelers choosing Rocky Bleier to be on their team, it was obvious that many didn’t believe that he was capable of greatness. But little did they know that he was going to prove every single person who believed, and didn’t believe in him, that he was indeed, worthy.

Getting Drafted Into The Army

Although he had just been drafted into the NFL, Rocky was also going to find himself being drafted into another career. Like many young men at the height of the Vietnam War, Rocky was forced to join the US Army. He reported for duty on December 4, 1968 and left for Vietnam just 5 months later in May.
