The “Day He Died”
It was on that day, May 10, 1996, that Beck would declare it as “The day that I died.” As the group of hikers was just 30 minutes away from camp, the blizzard hit with a force that knocked them off their feet, and would immediately cause the weather to fall to an unbelievable temperature of -60. Not only was Beck blind, but it was also getting darker by the minute, and they were about to freeze to death.
