The rest of the party was still going to head up to the summit, but Beck needed to wait it out until his vision was more stable. Rob told him, “If you can see in 30 minutes, climb on. If you can’t, promise to say here until I come back.” So more than 26,000 feet from the bottome of Mt. Everest, Beck would wait until he could finally head up and reach the peak. Unfortunatly for him, that time would never come.
