The Climbing Bug
It was in 1986 when he decided to attend a class about mountaineering, and was quickly bitten by the climbing bug. Beck looked up to Richard Bass, the very first man who went up the Seven Summits, and decided he was going to follow in Bass’s footsteps. Apparently, Beck thought that physically pushing himself to the limit would prove to keep his depression at bay.
