Beck would go on to have his right arm amputated from the elbow down, and his left hand was reshaped to form a mitt, which would later on become quite functional. His nose, which had suffered immense frostbite, had to be removed while a new nose was grown from skin from his neck and cartilage from his ears, to grow a new one, amazingly on his forehead. Once it was ready to be reattached, it was cut away from his forehead and reconstructed back to its proper place.
